If you’re thinking her face looks familiar, then chances are you’ve probably seen her before, but not as Christine Richards, rather as one-half of the country duo Face2Face.
Christine grew up singing and performing in church, firstly in her hometown of Sarnia, Ontario, then throughout churches in Manitoba when she and her family moved out. It was during those significant years, that she and her mirror-image twin sister Felicia found their niche in music, specifically country and thus formed the duo Face2Face in 2003.
Throughout a whirlwind year, Christine and Felicia recorded their first three songs in Nashville, including their debut single “Take My Heart”, which embarked them on a Media Tour across all of western Canada, promoting their music to radio, TV, and various media. Shortly afterwards, they were founded by producer/songwriter Gilles Godard, Chief Creative Officer of ole music publishing, and recorded their debut CD “Pistols and Pickup Trucks.” The twins co-wrote four of the album’s songs, including the title track.
Following the release of their album, the twins then released singles “Cryin’ Over Nothin’”, “Romance Rodeo” and their own version of “Frosty the Snowman” to Canadian radio and overseas, charting in the Top 100 Canadian charts. Their music received phenomenal review from Larry Delaney of Country Music News, Music Row Magazine in Nashville, and many others. With the success of the album and its singles, the twins then opened for country superstar Gretchen Wilson in the summer of 2006 and most recently for Rascal Flatts in 2008.
It’s with all that experience that has brought Christine back to singing in the church, and really, back to her roots and where it all began. Only this time, she’s singing songs no one has ever heard before, lyrics which explain her most diarized thoughts. And with the help of her co-writers and publisher Ron Hampson of LoftAudio, those songs have been brought to life, and glorify what’s most important in Christine’s life, God.
